When RMB Audio started in 1982, professional audio had only half a decade of experience.  During the developing years, pioneers were producing horn loaded component cabinets capable of reaching extreme SPL and throw capabilities.  Dave Martin, founder of  Martin Audio-London, produced horn loaded bass bins ("split-bins"), and horn loaded mid frequency cabinets ("philishave" due to the appearance of an electric shaver).  Dave Martin pursued articulation - the human voice.

   Human speech is distinguishable and unique therefore from infancy a child can discern the mother's voice among multiple others speaking.  With that in mind it became evident that speech is critical and music follows after.  Regardless of the sound presentation, within any sound environment the human brain acclimates, orients, adapts to and rejects some components in order to comprehend.

  RMB Audio has used Martin Audio and continues to use Martin Audio cabinets, because they are consistently of the best made in the last three decades, longer than any of the current producers.
